The Bombard is part of the oboe family. It consists of a chanter ending with a conical horn used to amplify the sound. traditionally made of boxwood or ebony, she usually has six finger holes, and sometimes one or more additional holes that are plugged with keys which allow to obtai lower notes or semitones.

The Biniou (prononce it [benew]) is part of the great family of bagpipes. It consists of a leather bag, a blowpipe to fil the bag with air, a melodic drone producing a continuous rating, and finally a chanter on which the melody is played.
